US 59 from SH 99 to SH 6 Environmental Assessment |

Environmental assessment for widening US 59 from four to ten lanes between SH 6 and SH 99 (Grand Parkway).
Quadrant Consultants prepared an environmental assessment for the proposed widening of US 59 from SH 99 (Grand Parkway) to SH 6 from a 4-lane divided road to a 10-lane divided road with two high-occupancy vehicle lanes and frontage roads. The project corridor is 4.8 miles long. Quadrant conducted an alternative analysis and a public involvement process. The project also included wetland delineation and permitting, assessment of endangered species, floodplains, noise, air quality, land use, secondary impacts, and agency coordination. Quadrant coordinated a public hearing for the project. The project required an individual Section 404 permit for wetland impacts, including a wetland mitigation plan. Quadrant coordinated with the U.S. Coast Guard for the Brazos River bridge.
